Biomedical Engineering (M.Tech)
Description
Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It’s a combination of biological and medical science with the design and problem solving skills of engineering which helps in improving patient’s health care and the quantity of life of healthy individuals. It requires successful students to develop imaging systems such as ultrasound, x-ray and magnetic resonance; artificial organs and devices for automating insulin injections or controlling body functions. The program includes varied aspects of biomedical engineering that include biomechanics, bioinstrumentation, biomaterials, medical imaging, rehabilitation engineering, and orthopedic engineering. Most engineers specializing in this course require a sound knowledge in one of the basic engineering specialties, such as mechanical or electronics engineering, besides specialized biomedical training.
