Astrophysics is a part of astronomy and a very broad subject dealing with the study of the universe comprising the chemical and physical properties, origin and development of celestial bodies such as galaxies, cosmology, stars and interstellar medium. It comprises many branches of physics, including quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, mechanics, nuclear and particle physics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, relativity and atomic and molecular physics.
